Well homeschooling involves baking so I had to find some fun recipes to share. I knew the kids would be down for making donuts and what better way to teach them fractions right?
This recipe is actually a modified version of one that Team USA Medalist Wrestler Sarah Hildebrant posted. It’s pretty amazing.

Total time: 17 mins
Makes: 12 mini donuts
Ingredients:
- 2 Tbsp melted coconut oil
- 3/4 cup of dairy free milk (we use our homemade almond milk)
- 1 cup of Almond flour
- 2 scoops of USANA Vegan Nutrimeal Free
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 Flax egg (1 Tbsp ground flax mixed with 3 Tbps water)
- 1 tsp apple cider vingear
- 1/8 cup pure maple syrup
Chocolate topping:
- 1 Tbsp coconut oil
- 6 Tbsp of vegan chocolate chips
Directions:
- Melt the coconut oil and remove from heat.
- Add in the dairy free milk
- Add the flour, Nutrimeal, baking soda, and baking power and mix well.
- In another bowl mix the vanilla, flax egg, maple syrup and apple cider vinegar.
- Add all ingredients together and blend well.
- Grease the pan with coconut cooking spray and add into the donut pan. Only fill half way cause they will rise.
- Bake at 350 for 10 mins – let cool completely before removing from pan.
- In a double boiler mix 1 Tbsp of coconut oil with 6 Tbsp vegan chocolate chips. Keep stirring until completely melted.
- Once the donuts have cooled remove from pan and dip them in the chocolate followed by your favourite toppings. topping could include sprinkles, peanuts, shredded coconut – get creative!
